Christmas time is quite simple

This is Christmas Morning -Sun shining brightly and it is99 degrees by afternoon. Our Christmas was small yet  wonderful!

The Nativity at the front corner of the /Temple grounds.  It is  facing two  busy roads so it is a great sight at night. But it is  hard to get a picture of., sorry about the fence.
This is a smaller grocery store we stopped in when were out and about.  Notice the Christmas baskets.  It looked so much like Easter Baskets at home but they were filled with Christmas goodies to eat.  Maybe a picnic???  I also saw in our store ice chests filled with food and treats and wrapped like a Easter basket.

This picture like a more modern scene of the first Christmas is a favorite of mine---  " cause look what the gift is for the baby right there in front!!!!  They always include what is brought for the Christ Child!

Sorry this is hard to see -- but wanted to share the way the busy drivers spruce up the ride with the ornaments hanging at the front window!

Now for the surprise sight at the golf course--check below

This is a quiz for the Grandkids. This is a trail Papa  found at the golf course.  There are several of them going in different directions.  Now look  at this huge  do-nut below?                   What could all this mean?

Yes,  Extra large ants!!!  Walking  back and forth so much that they wear out the grass!
These last three pictures are taken from our window.  We are facing east and this a main busy road.  I call the street we face restaurant row, as every building except the big pink one is!  The large pink one is a exercise place, a work out gym.
Usually the road is packed with cars but  this is taken on Christmas..

The gate at bottom right of the picture is our front gate and entry.  In the middle of the road the center strip is planted and maintained by the Church they do it for Three blocks.  This makes it look so nice around the church buildings and the Temple.  It is the best looking street  in town!!!

Lightening -lighting up the sky.

This is looking off our deck to the West.  Warren would just snap -snap hoping to catch the lightening  And so he did!  This is how the sky looked.  Then below is the how one huge lightening lighted the whole sky.

The before sky and below the after.

Before and yes we got a small lightening below.

Below you can see three strikes all together.

So much light below it almost looked like early morning.

It was quite a show. Just wished you could have seen and heard it!!

Things that make me smile!

This is the quaint little ice cream shop I really enjoy... with the really good ice cream.

This sign was so fun to see on the door across from the Prices.  I laughed at it.  This is what Tawnee used to call Aubrey when she was little.  Loca for girls means little crazy kid.  It might be even a wilder than just crazy.  So the sign means the home of the crazy ones. Ha- ha... I wish I could bring it home for Tawnee's door.
Warren and the Prices are walking into the German store which is called that by all the missionaries because it is owned and managed by Germans.  They carry selected  food items from the US and other places.  You never know what you might find there.. from cake  mixes,  nuts, cereal to pop.  I found root beer there only once.  And I had to get some of course.
What a huge contrast as this is is right across the street from the German store... It is a car repair and paint shop. Notice the fence and the brick wall.

This is a close up of the wall notice the way they keep intruders out.  I bet it is pretty effective here. So They go over to the gate and open up that rickety fence I would guess.

Right across the street from the hospital is this funeral home.  That is a great sight as you go to the hospital.  It has two vans ready to pick people up and the front of the place looks like two garage doors.  Open twenty- four hours a day.We heard just the other day that it is a night mare if some one dies in their home.  It is like they were murdered. It turns in to a big investigation even if they were sick and old. Weird!!   It all Seemed like a joke!

This is how the orchid flowers just hook right on to a tree and grow.  I wish it was in bloom but it was fun to see.

YES,    WE HAVE A  McDONALDS!    AND A PIZZA HUT

The not so poor have a truck to collect garbage and clean up peoples yards . Notice the speaker... they will call out  there services.  This gives us lots to be thankful for.  The good thing is they are willing and trying to work!

This is where poor people look through the garbage

This is the garbage bin that is in front of most homes and businesses.  They are good to keep the dogs out of the garbage. Most of them look just like this. But notice the garbage on the ground.  They missed the spot I guess.
After I took that top picture I found these  two !!       This is the only one I 've seen with color and a fancy design.

Halloween Treats

Look what we found  to make our own Halloween.  Jello to turn into pumpkins and chocolate .... for Papa and fruit slices for Mimi.
This arrived  right on Halloween.  It was on the landing floor and flew to the neighbors door as we walked out.  I gave out a screech!  He looked like a bat he was so big....

IT'S THE NEW COLOR BLOOMING !

THIS BLOOM WAS AS BIG AS MY HAND.
THIS TREE SEEMED LIKE IT WAS POLKA DOTTED WITH FLOWERS JUST HERE AND THERE
NOW THE PLANTS BELOW ARE A FEW EXAMPLES OF THE HOUSE PLANTS  I RECOGNIZED.

The tree in the middle of the sidewalk..(oops a bit hard to see)

Below I loved these great uses for old tires!

This makes a great road sign... advertising the tire shop.

Look a  tire bridge!    And below is a second one just a bit down the road.
